Pearl City Accident Leaves 70-Year-Old Man in Critical Condition
A two-vehicle collision in Pearl City early Wednesday morning left three people injured, including one man in critical condition. The crash occurred around 5:20 a.m. near 2055 Komo Mai Drive in the Palisades neighborhood.
Emergency crews, including firefighters, paramedics, and police officers, quickly responded to the scene. A 70-year-old man sustained critical injuries and received advanced life support before being transported to a nearby hospital. Two other individuals, a 20-year-old woman and a 45-year-old woman, were also injured and taken to the emergency room in serious condition.

Aloun Farms' 22nd Annual Pumpkin Festival Returns with Family Fun in Ewa
The 22nd annual Pumpkin Festival at Aloun Farms kicked off last weekend, marking the start of pumpkin season in Hawaii. The festival, held at the farm's sprawling fields in Ewa, will continue on the last three weekends of October, offering a range of family-friendly activities and entertainment.
Aloun Farms, founded by Aloun Sou and his family in 1977 after immigrating from Laos, has evolved from a small five-acre farm in Waianae into one of Hawaii’s largest agricultural operations. Now spanning approximately 3,000 acres, the farm produces a variety of crops, including Asian vegetables, herbs, and seasonal pumpkins. The Pumpkin Festival is one of their biggest annual events.
Festival-goers can enjoy activities like self-picking pumpkins, corn, and string beans, alongside a petting zoo, pony rides, a farmers' market, and free tractor hayrides. Local vendors will offer crafts and food, and live entertainment will be on hand to keep the festive mood alive.
A Virtual Pumpkin Carving Contest, sponsored by Southwest Airlines, adds a modern twist to the event, with participants having a chance to win free flights. Admission is affordable at $5 per person, and children under two get in free, although rides like pony rides require separate payment.
With no online reservations available, attendees are encouraged to head to the farm early to make the most of the festivities.
Experience Terror and Puzzles at Honolulu’s 'Trial of Fears' Haunted House
The "Trial of Fears" is a standout interactive haunted house in Honolulu, Hawaii, organized by Waikiki Trolley. Unlike traditional haunted houses, this attraction combines eerie atmospheres with the challenge of solving escape-room-style puzzles. Guests must face their fears by navigating through a series of terrifying rooms, completing three tasks to escape and free the trapped souls held by the sinister Miss Mortimer.
For the 2024 season, the event will be hosted at 1500 Kapiolani Blvd, close to Ala Moana Shopping Center. This year's theme features Dr. Delerio and his terrifying Orderlies, who add to the tension with impressive production effects like fog, strobe lights, and highly detailed sets. The experience is intense, making it recommended for ages 10 and up.
"Trial of Fears" not only delivers scares but also gives back to the community by donating part of the proceeds to the Humane Society. This makes the event a thrilling and meaningful way to celebrate the Halloween season. Tickets can be purchased online, and with limited dates in October and early November, it's best to book ahead as spots fill quickly. Go to www.trialoffearshi.com for more info.
