Pearlridge Center Hosts Spooky Halloween Candy Crawl for Keiki
Pearlridge Center is bringing back its popular Halloween Candy Crawl, a fun-filled indoor trick-or-treat event perfect for families and kids. This year promises to be even more "fa-boo-lous" than before, with children, or "keiki," invited to visit stores throughout the Mauka and Wai Makai wings to collect free candy. Along with trick-or-treating, kids can enjoy the chance to admire some spooky costumes and participate in a keiki costume contest. The event will take place on Thursday, October 31, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., making it an exciting and safe way to celebrate Halloween indoors.
MADD and HPD Warn of Halloween Road Dangers: Increased Patrols Planned
This Halloween, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) are warning parents and drivers to stay alert to the dangers posed by impaired and distracted driving. Halloween is one of the deadliest days of the year for child pedestrians, and officials emphasize the need for adult supervision and responsible driving to prevent tragedies. In 2023, half of Oahu's traffic deaths involved alcohol or drugs. HPD plans to ramp up enforcement with additional patrols and sobriety checkpoints to keep the roads safe.
