Scott Levi Jones Brings Nashville’s Folk & Roll to Whiskey Dix Saloon

Nashville’s own Scott Levi Jones is set to take the stage at Whiskey Dix Saloon for a night of energetic Americana and Folk & Roll. Known for his blue-collar wit and engaging storytelling, Jones will perform with a full band featuring top Nashville musicians. The event promises a vibrant mix of roots rock and original folk tales, giving Oahu’s only honky tonk a taste of authentic Nashville sound.

Jones’ music dives deep into the trials and celebrations of everyday life, aiming to resonate with those who crave raw, genuine melodies. With his experience as a true “journeyman of music,” Jones brings a seasoned presence to the stage, blending heartfelt lyrics with a powerful rock sound. This show offers local music fans an exciting opportunity to experience the spirit of Nashville right at home. Don’t miss Scott Levi Jones and his band as they bring the soul of Americana to Whiskey Dix Saloon (99-16 Kamehameha Hwy, Aiea, HI 96701) on November 9 from 10:00 PM - 2:00 AM.

Staff Shortages and Budget Cuts Threaten Hawaii’s Library Operations

The Hawaii State Public Library System risks losing funding for 37 unfilled positions due to state budget plans, which could reduce hours and resources, especially in rural areas. Librarian Stacey Aldrich will request additional funding to maintain these roles and enhance security amid rising incidents. The system also faces challenges with aging infrastructure, with Aldrich seeking $28 million for overdue repairs. Extended hiring delays have worsened staffing issues, forcing some qualified candidates to seek jobs elsewhere. If cuts proceed, the impact could weaken library services statewide, limiting resources for Hawaii’s communities.

Trump Reclaims White House in Historic Election Comeback

Donald Trump has been elected as the 47th President of the United States, marking a historic return to office. His campaign focused on revitalizing the American economy, reinforcing national security, reforming healthcare, and supporting law enforcement. The win has sparked varied reactions nationwide, from celebratory gatherings to peaceful demonstrations. Trump’s transition team is already setting priorities for his first 100 days, including tax reform, infrastructure investment, and trade policy adjustments aimed at boosting the economy. The inauguration is set for January 20, when Trump will officially take office.
