Tucked away in the heart of Manana, Pearl City Aquatics has been shaping swimmers and community leaders for an impressive 56 years. This non-profit, family-oriented swim club goes far beyond building strong athletes; it nurtures character, resilience, and a sense of camaraderie that leaves a lasting impact on its members and the larger community.
Founded on principles of good sportsmanship and teamwork, Pearl City Aquatics operates under the stewardship of a dedicated Board of Directors. This unique governance model ensures that the organization stays true to its mission: fostering well-rounded individuals through competitive swimming.
The club’s long history of success is matched only by its commitment to nurturing the next generation. Pearl City Aquatics trains swimmers of all skill levels, helping them reach personal and competitive goals while instilling values that extend far beyond the pool.
“Our focus isn’t just on creating great swimmers,” says Treasurer Kelli Nishikawa, one of the club’s passionate leaders. “It’s about building character, teaching responsibility, and cultivating a lifelong love for the sport.”
Community engagement is a cornerstone of Pearl City Aquatics. This fall, the team made a splash at local events, participating in Mililani Uka Elementary's Trunk or Treat and hosting a booth at the Momilani Community Yard Sale. These efforts showcase the club’s dedication to building connections and giving back.
Looking ahead, Pearl City Aquatics has big plans to expand its outreach. In spring, the team will take part in Mililani Uka Elementary’s fair, and in summer 2025, they’ll launch a much-anticipated learn-to-swim program. These initiatives aim to make swimming more accessible and help ensure that water safety skills reach every corner of the community.
What truly sets Pearl City Aquatics apart is its family-oriented approach. The club isn’t just a training ground for athletes; it’s a close-knit community where swimmers and their families find support, friendship, and inspiration.
Whether you're a seasoned competitor or new to the sport, Pearl City Aquatics welcomes everyone with open arms—and plenty of aloha!
