Helping Hands Hawaiʻi Offers Free School Supplies for Families in Need
As the new school year approaches, Helping Hands Hawaiʻi is stepping up to ensure that students across the state are well-equipped to succeed. Through its Ready to Learn initiative, the organization is offering free school supplies to keiki in need, with several upcoming distribution events scheduled across Oʻahu.
Families can pick up supplies from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following locations:
Monday, July 14 – Windward Community College
Tuesday, July 15 – Nānākuli Elementary School
Thursday, July 17 – Kapolei High School
A final distribution event will take place on Saturday, July 19 at the Helping Hands Hawaiʻi warehouse. That event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include additional community resources, such as information on Helping Hands Hawaiʻi’s various programs and SNAP Education.
Those who are registered with the organization are encouraged to arrive between 9 and 11 a.m., while walk-in guests will be welcomed from 12 to 3 p.m. To make the experience smoother, families are urged to register online in advance. Parking for the warehouse event will be available at Puʻuhale Elementary School and at ʻOhana Self Storage across the street.
Quantities are limited and supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Helping Hands Hawaiʻi continues to call on the community for support, encouraging donations and volunteer participation to extend the reach of the Ready to Learn program.
