A 33-year-old man was arrested by Honolulu police on the night of July 12 following a violent confrontation in Pearl City that led to an attempted murder investigation.
According to the Honolulu Police Department, the incident began around 8:15 p.m. when a dispute broke out between the suspect and a 26-year-old man at a bar in Pearl City. After leaving the scene initially, the suspect reportedly returned and tried to hit the other man with his car.
In an effort to avoid being struck, the victim jumped onto the hood of the vehicle. Authorities said the suspect then reversed his car, colliding with several parked vehicles. This maneuver caused the victim to fall off the hood and become trapped between two cars.
After the collision, the suspect fled the scene but was later found and taken into custody.
The victim sustained minor injuries and is currently in good condition. Police say the investigation remains active and are encouraging anyone with additional information to contact law enforcement directly.
