Pearl Harbor Hosts 80th Anniversary Events for WWII's End

Pearl Harbor Commemorates 80th Anniversary of WWII's End with Special Events |

The Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum and the Battleship Missouri Memorial are hosting a series of events from August 30 to September 2, 2025, to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
On August 30, the museum will present the "Flight Adventures" program from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, featuring family-friendly activities, remote-controlled aircraft demonstrations, and the return of the Biggest Little Air Show.
Later that day, at 11:00 AM, a special screening of "Miles, Morale and Memories: Bob Hope and WWII" will be held, followed by a panel discussion with actor Gary Sinise, Linda Hope, and Martha Bolton.
In the evening, the Lt. Dan Band, led by Gary Sinise, will perform a free concert at 5:00 PM, with gates opening at 3:00 PM and an opening act by the Mākaha Sons at 4:00 PM.
On August 31, the "Flight Adventures" program continues from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
That evening, the Battleship Missouri Memorial will host a formal Commemoration Gala at 5:30 PM, honoring World War II veterans and the Greatest Generation.
On September 1, a screening of "Surrender on the USS Missouri" will take place at 2:00 PM in the museum's theater.
The commemoration concludes on September 2 with a ceremony at 9:02 AM aboard the Battleship Missouri Memorial, marking the exact time of Japan's surrender 80 years ago.
These events offer the community an opportunity to honor the sacrifices of those who served and to reflect on the enduring lessons of World War II.
