Light The World Giving Machine Returns to Pearlridge Center This Holiday Season

Community Invited to Support Local and Global Causes Through Unique Vending Experience

The holiday season brings a special opportunity for the community to give back through the Light The World Giving Machine, returning to Pearlridge Center Mauka from November 20 to December 31, 2025.

Located in the Center Court near Macy's, this unique vending machine allows shoppers to purchase items that directly benefit those in need.

Instead of dispensing snacks or drinks, the Giving Machine offers options like meals, hygiene kits, and educational supplies.

All donations go directly to the selected charities, with administrative costs covered by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

This year, the Giving Machine at Pearlridge Center supports five local nonprofit organizations: AccesSurf Hawaii, Armed Services YMCA, Hale Kipa, Hawaii Foodbank, and Ronald McDonald House Hawaii.

Additionally, two international nonprofits, Splash and Mentors International, will benefit from the generosity of donors.

Each organization offers specific items for purchase, such as hygiene supplies, transportation cards, and educational support.

For example, donations to Hale Kipa can provide essentials like hygiene supplies, HOLO cards for transportation, and assistance for youth pursuing a high school diploma.

The Giving Machines are part of the global Light the World initiative, encouraging acts of service during the holiday season.

Since their inception in 2017, these machines have facilitated nearly $50 million in donations worldwide, helping countless individuals and families.

Visitors to Pearlridge Center can find the Giving Machine in the Mauka Center Court area.

It's a simple yet impactful way to make a difference, embodying the true spirit of the season.
