Pearlside Church in Aiea is offering neighbors two ways to give and receive help this month.

Food distribution, Saturday, November 7

Pearlside Church's food distribution with the Hawaii Foodbank takes place Saturday, November 7, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Youth Outreach Community Center, 98-780 Oihana Place in Aiea.

According to the church's event listing, online registration opens Monday, November 2.

Registration is required, so interested households should sign up promptly.

Each ticket reserves food for one household, and each household chooses one pickup time, either 10:30 or 11:15 a.m.

Names must match a government-issued ID, which will be checked on arrival.

One vehicle may pick up for up to three households, each with its own confirmed ticket and matching ID.

Organizers ask everyone to arrive at their ticketed time to help with parking and traffic, and the event closes at noon.

Drivers are asked to stay in their vehicles, clear their trunks before arriving and leave pets at home.

The Hawaii Foodbank and Pearlside Church reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who does not follow the rules.

Anyone who needs to cancel is asked to call 808-777-6123 so the food can go to another household.

The church's graphic notes the distribution is held on the first Saturday of every month.

Blood drive, Saturday, November 21

Pearlside Church at 98-771 Oihana Place will also host a blood drive on Saturday, November 21, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event listing says Blood Bank of Hawaii needs help and directs donors to make an appointment through the blood bank.

The drive is organized through the church, with an all-day window that leaves room for early risers and afternoon donors alike.

Whether you need a little help or have a little to give, both events keep the support close to home.
