Hawai‘i Bicycling League Hosts Hands-On Session at Lehua Elementary |
Lehua Elementary School in Pearl City is set to host a free bike workshop on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Organized by the Hawai‘i Bicycling League (HBL), this hands-on session aims to boost cyclists' confidence on Hawai‘i's roads.
Participants are encouraged to bring their bicycles to engage in practical exercises designed to enhance bike control and safety awareness.
The workshop will cover essential topics, including basic bike fitting, safety checks, and best practices for cycling safely in Hawai‘i.
Attendees will also learn about bike parking, theft prevention, and the various types of bicycle infrastructure in the area.
On-bike handling practice will focus on smooth starting, stopping, steering, scanning, and signaling.
The session will conclude with a short instructor-led ride around the neighborhood, allowing participants to apply their newly acquired skills in a real-world setting.
Registration is required and will close once the workshop reaches capacity or one day before the event.
