Joke Of The Day

Why did the golfer bring two pairs of pants to Pearl City, Hawaii?

In case he got a hole in one!

United BJJ Hawai‘i – Building Strength, Confidence, and ‘Ohana in Pearl City

Tucked inside the 24 Hour Fitness center on Kamehameha Highway, United BJJ Hawai‘i isn’t just a martial arts academy — it’s a place where discipline meets aloha.

Founded by world-class athletes Bruno Pucci, a two-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi World Champion, and Angela Lee Pucci, a six-time MMA World Champion, this Pearl City gem has quickly become a hub for families, kids, and adults who want more than just a workout. They’re looking for community — and they’ve found it here.

Walk through the doors and you’ll likely hear the sound of laughter mixed with the rhythm of training — the thud of a takedown followed by a cheer from classmates. Whether it’s a Tiny Tots class for three-year-olds or an evening session for adult beginners, every student is met with patience, respect, and genuine encouragement.

“Our goal has always been to create a safe, welcoming space,” says Bruno. “We want people to grow not only in skill, but in confidence, character, and resilience.”

That philosophy is visible in every class. Parents sit by the mat watching their keiki learn balance, teamwork, and respect. Adults who once felt nervous about stepping into a gym now find themselves part of a tight-knit community that celebrates every small victory.

The academy offers programs for all ages and experience levels — from Kids BJJ and Women’s No-Gi classes to Adult Fundamentals — emphasizing both the physical and mental benefits of martial arts.

Beyond technique, United BJJ Hawai‘i places deep value on respect and personal growth. The mats are cleaned daily, the atmosphere is family-friendly, and newcomers are always greeted with a smile and a “welcome to the team.”

As Angela puts it, “BJJ has given us so much — discipline, purpose, family. We wanted to share that with our community here in Hawai‘i.”

For those looking to try something new, United BJJ Hawai‘i offers free trial classes for beginners. Whether your goal is fitness, self-defense, or simply finding a supportive space to grow, this Pearl City academy embodies what it means to train with heart.
