Trivia Question❓

What popular TV show filmed several episodes in Pearl City, Hawaii, including one in which the characters attend a Pearl City High School arcade fight?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

Honoring Our Veterans

Each year on Veterans Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. What began as Armistice Day in 1918 — marking the end of World War I — has grown into a day recognizing all who served, past and present.

Here in Pearl City, many of our neighbors, friends, and family members have worn the uniform. This weekend, take a moment to say “thank you,” attend a local ceremony, or support a veteran-owned business. Even the smallest gesture can mean a lot.

From all of us at Pearl City Localmahalo to our veterans for your service, courage, and sacrifice.

Pearl City Local is written for you, our readers. We encourage you to share your news, local hero stories, events, and more!

Pearlside Food Distribution

This Veterans Day, Pearlside Church invites local families to its Food Distribution Event on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Youth Outreach Community Center, located at 98-780 Oihana Place, Suite C-1, Aiea, HI 96701. Walk-ins welcome after 11:00 a.m.

The Food Distribution is part of the ongoing “Pearlside Cares” outreach program, organized in partnership with the Hawaiʻi Foodbank and the ʻOhana Produce Plus Program. Each month, the initiative provides fresh produce, pantry staples, and community support to families across Central Oʻahu.

Volunteers from Pearlside Church and the surrounding community will be on-site to help with distribution and share information about other local resources. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable bags or boxes for convenience.

“Serving our neighbors through acts of compassion is at the heart of what we do,” said a Pearlside Cares team member. “Together, we can help ensure no one in our community goes hungry.”
